NODE has taken a giant stride into the future with “NODE Foresight – a world-class industry cluster”. The most significant strategy is that the cluster has redefined itself, moving from a volume-based cluster to a knowledge-based cluster.

The Foresight programme for the cluster to 2020 was an important process for the cluster during 2010. The result is a plan in which the companies have said how they want to use NODE in the decade ahead. This plan will distinguish us as a cluster and the south of Norway as a region for years to come!

In the Foresight programme for the cluster up to 2020, we have established clear development targets for the next ten years. One important decision is that we will build our identity on being an expertise-based cluster. Eight project plans are now in their early stages and will completed during the year. 

The eight project proposals from NODE 2020 that will be worked on are:

1. NODE technology lab, environmental lab
2. Future infrastructure solutions for oil, gas and wind
3. NODE permit controls
4. Offshore wind – marine operations
5. Increased recovery from mature fields
6. NODE environment
7. NODE knowledge development
8. From idea to business for SMB

The results of the project plans will be presented to NODE’s steering committee before any projects begin or measures are taken.
